Tijdsoverweging: ‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑‑------ In de "Dictionnaire de la civilisation Phénicienne et Punique", Brepols 1992 wordt uitgegaan van een regering door Matanastarte van 912 ‑ 901 v.C. Dat is wel consequent, want ook bij Abdastarte werd een chronologie gevolgd, die 3 jaar vroeger was, dan algemeen wordt aangenomen. Het klopt dan echter niet met de opvolger van Matanastarte, waarvoor 888‑880 als regering wordt aangegeven! Aldus prijkt er dan een onverklaarbaar gat van ca.13 jaren, dat ontstaan lijkt door Matanastarte onmiddellijk na Abdastarte te plaatsen. F.Briquel‑Chatonnet (in:OLA 46) noemt Methousastratos voor de periode 909‑897 en F.J.Katzenstein (in:'Tyre')gaat uit van 909‑898. Daarmee lopen zij weer enigszins in de pas met de 'normale' chronologie van Flavius Josephus. Men kan zich de vraag stellen, of er nu een nieuwe dynastie gaat ontstaan, of dat de oude dynastie weer terug in het zadel is. De eerste dynastie eindigde met een Abdastarte en de nieuwe begint met een (matan)Astarte! Ook de opvolger van deze Astarte heeft dezelfde stam in zijn naam zitten (Astar'm!). We hebben echter geen doorslaggevend gegeven om deze vraag positief, dan wel negatief te beantwoorden.
