In deze en volgende eeuw verspreiden de Feniciërs zich stilletjes over het Middellandse zeegebied. Via Zuid-Italië komen ze bij Sicilië en vandaar is de oversteek naar Afrika goed te maken. Wellicht zijn ze via Sardinië en de Balearen bij Spanje aangekomen en dat moet tegen het einde van deze eeuw zijn gebeurd. Dit gebeurt zonder enige bombarie of trompetgeschal. We kennen wel de traditionele stichtingsdata van notabene Grieken en Romeinen van Gadir en Utica, waarbij de Tyriërs een wezenlijke rol hebben gespeeld. Gadir 1110-1104/3 v.C volgens Paterculus, Plinius, Eratosthenes, Apollodorus gecombineerd. Utica 1101 v.C volgens Paterculus, Plinius, Ps.Aristoteles (par.134): “In het gedeelte van Libyë de vestiging van Utica.... dat gesticht werd, zegt men, door de Phoeniciërs 287 jaren voor Carthago zelf, zoals het is opgetekend in de Phoenicische geschiedenissen.” Plinius de oudere in 77 na Chr: “Opmerkelijk is ook de tempel van Apollo te Utica, die nog cederbalken van Numidië bevat, die geplaatst werden bij de stichting van de stad en dat was 1178 jaar geleden.” Werkelijk griezelig nauwkeurig passen alle traditionele stichtingsdata bij elkaar en toch wordt er alom aan getwijfeld aan zulk een vroege kolonisatie van Afrika en Spanje. Het lijkt nu nog ongeloofwaardig, omdat de archeologische bewijsvoering nog ontbreekt. We moeten ook bedenken, dat in de oudheid veel van elkaar werd overgeschreven. Vandaar, dat nu de meest gehoorde opvatting is, dat echte kolonies pas een eeuw later t.t.v. Abibaal gebeurd kunnen zijn.

Really creepy accurate fit all traditional foundation data together and yet it is widely doubted at such an early colonization of Africa and Spain. It seems incredible now, because the archaeological evidence is still lacking. We must also remember that in ancient times many of each was written down from eachother. Hence, now the most common view is that real colonies can have existed until a century later in the time of Abibaal.
