Wellicht is Tyrus ook te vinden in de lijst van de tribuutbetalers aan Sargon II in deze tijd: Samsi, koning van Egypte, It'amra van de Sabeërs en de koningen van de zeekust. Wie de bedoelde farao is, kan moeilijk gezegd worden, want er waren nogal wat rivalen in Egypte. Het Assur prisma noemt echter Shilkanni van Egypte met een gift van 12 paarden.   Sargon krijgt ook wat te zeggen in Cilicië en op Cyprus. Er verschijnt een gedenksteen te Kition (707 v.C).
